Mooseheart Chapter 3001 to host Teacher Appreciation Breakfast for the Mooseheart Teachers on August 20, 2010

It is hard to believe that the start of the school year is just around the corner for our Mooseheart students. In order to show their teachers our appreciation for all that they do for the students, our Chapter will once again be hosting a breakfast for the teachers at the beginning of the school year. The breakfast will take place on August 20, 2010. We are asking for donations of food items and volunteers to help with the set-up. Some of the food items requested are:

Fruit
Donuts
Pastries
Orange Juice
Coffee
Egg Quiche or other egg dishes

Please contact Teresa Ehlert at 630-849-5147 or tehlert@mooseintl.org to let her know what you can donate and if you can volunteer some of your time. We are requesting that food donations be brought to the school by 8am on August 20, 2010.

A T-shirt designed by Dawn T., a student at Mooseheart became available to the public on May 15th at the annual blessing of the bikes at Mooseheart. The design (located in the photos section of this website) was selected out of several that were entered by the Mooseheart youth. "Mooseheart is...My home and family" was also part of Dawn's design. For the youth at Mooseheart, this quote symbolizes what Mooseheart means to them a home and a family. T-shirts are being sold for a limited time. $10 for sizes Adult S-L and $12 for sizes XL-4XL. For those wishing to purchase shirts to have sent to them, they can contact Jr. Governor Frank Kirby at (630) 723-2094 or fkirby@mooseheart.org

To the Men and Women of the Moose,

I would like to thank all of those that participated in the process of sending care packages to the past graduates. I received mine just recently and found it a wonderful surprise. It is encouraging to know that although I am no longer a student at Mooseheart, there are people still thinking and wishing the best for me. I have finished my first quarter at Depaul University and am doing very well. I have adjusted with the transition from Mooseheart to college. Music is doing great and I am learning a great deal. I hope all is going well for you and that you have a very blessed Christmas.

Dear Co-Workers,

As we approach the beginning of the school year for Mooseheart, our Chapter’s activities are beginning to increase. The fall is a wonderful time to visit the Mooseheart Campus and to become involved in some of our Chapter activities and fundraising efforts.

First up is our next Chapter meeting at 12 noon at the PJO on Monday, August 16, 2010. We will be discussing some of our fall activities and would welcome your thoughts and input.

On Friday, August 20, 2010 we will be hosting a teacher appreciation breakfast buffet for the Mooseheart teachers as they start a new school year. If you have not already done so, please contact Teresa Ehlert at 630-849-5147 or tehlert@mooseintl.org if you can provide a donation of food or a donation of your time to help make this year’s breakfast a success.

With the start of a new school year comes the start of the fall sports seasons. As in years past, we will be operating the concessions stand at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse for the home football and volleyball games. We need volunteers to operate the concessions stand and, in particular, someone to volunteer to be responsible for the opening and/or closing of the concessions stand on each event date. Volunteering at the concessions stand is a great way to meet and get to know some or your fellow Co-workers and some of the Mooseheart students. The home game dates are:
